Yellow Chartreuse
Softer, sweeter, lower-proof counterpart to Green Chartreuse.
Liqueurs Voiron, France 40% ABV
Flavor profile: herbalsweet
Yellow Chartreuse shares the same monastic origin and the same impossible-to-pronounce recipe-keepers as Green Chartreuse, but is sweeter, lower proof (40% ABV), and gentler. Honey, saffron, and aniseed are among the detectable notes. In a Naked & Famous (mezcal, yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, lime), the yellow's gentleness allows the mezcal smoke to speak. In most recipes, yellow and green are not interchangeable — the flavor intensity is genuinely different.
